Notice to our Patients

Visitation:

Saratoga Hospital and Saratoga Hospital outpatient facilities shall respect the rights of patients to choose who may visit/accompany them when they are hospitalized or seen in an outpatient setting.

Visitation and the support of family and friends play an important role in the care and healing of the patients. We welcome all visitors and want to make the visits as comfortable as possible for both the visitor and the patient. Visitors will not be restricted, limited, or otherwise denied on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age or disability. The patient has the right to withdraw or deny his/her consent to receive specific visitors.

Open visitation may occur 24 hours a day unless clinical limitations are warranted.

Restrictions may need to be placed based on the patient’s needs and safety, including:

  • Infection prevention concerns
  • Space limitations
  • In the Women’s Health Service unit, to honor the “Golden Hour” to support mother baby bonding
  • In the Mental Health Unit, to allow the patient to attend group sessions as part of their plan of care
  • In Medical Imaging, for safety concerns related to radiation exposure

It is not possible to anticipate every instance that may give rise to a clinically appropriate rational for a restriction or limitation. Please check with the nurse caring for your family member or friend regarding any applied limitation.

Please note: Any visitors arriving after 8 PM must enter through the Emergency Department triage walk-in entrance, as all other doors will be locked.
